Conservatives Gain Victories in the Houston Independent School District Runoff Elections

- Steven Hotze, M.D.

Praise God! Two solid Christian conservatives, Rev. Kendall Baker and Bridget Wade were elected to the Houston Independent School District board in runoff elections last Saturday, defeating the leftist incumbents.

“The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.”

(Proverb 21:31)

Conservative Republicans of Harris County, which I founded in 1988, endorsed and campaigned for Baker and Wade.

Conservative Republicans of Harris County has been the most influential political action committee with Republican primary voters for over 30 years.

This is the first year that

Conservative Republicans of Harris County (CRHC) involved itself in any school board races.

The three candidates that CRHC endorsed in the CyFair Elections, Natalie Blasingame, Scott Henry and Lucas Scanlon, all won their elections on November 2. They beat longtime incumbents.

These two HISD victories are added to the 3 wins we had in the CyFair ISD races on November 2.

Dr. Rick Scarborough deserves credit for his work with pastors, challenging them to encourage their members to vote in the school board elections. Cindy Seigel’s leadership of the Harris County Republican Party must also be recognized. She was the leader who pushed the Harris County Republican Party to get involved and support conservative school board candidates.

Aubrey Taylor’s “Houston Business Connection” newspaper provided outstanding coverage of the candidates, clearly showing which candidates stood for historic Christian and Constitutional values. Aubrey’s news coverage and endorsements helped make the difference in these elections.

Christians must take back control of the public schools from the leftists who promote the teaching of the perversion of homosexuality and transgenderism to children in the schools and who allow the indoctrination of children with the Communist critical race theory. The schools must return to the teaching of the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic.

The Lord’s prayer ought to be said out loud over the loudspeaker at the beginning of the school day. The Ten Commandments should be posted and taught in the schools.

The defeat of leftist, Marxist libertine school board members that occurred this year in several school board elections in Harris County happened across America. Christians are finally awakening to the fact that pro-Communist have captured the public schools and they are fighting back and recapturing lost ground. The battle has just begun.

We must restore our nation to its Christian heritage.  Taking over school boards is the place to begin.””
